ADMISSION

Introduction to FUSION 360 CAD

Fusion 360 is a full feature design and manufacturing software package. With Fusion 360 you can design your own 2D or 3D models and export to 3d printing, laser, CNC router and CNC metal mill.

This class is for beginners looking to start learning a CAD design tool.

We will cover:

  • Loading a Free version of Fusion 360 on to your personal computer.
  • Setting up various settings and preferences in Fusion
  • Understanding 3D Solid modeling.
  • Learning basic functions and concepts within Fusion to create a simple 2D design.
  • Expanding that 2D shape into a 3D Solid model.
  • Editing / modifying and manipulating your design.
  • File management within Fusion.
  • Explaining various Export file formats available with Fusion.

As part of the process, you will be required to make an account with Autodesk, the parent company of Fusion 360, in order to use the free version of Fusion 360. Please reach out in advance if you have issues installing it, as we want to use the class time to explore the software.

Please plan to arrive a few minutes early to get your computer setup.

Admission price is for two class meeting with times scheduled 1 week apart. Detailed course description TBA.
