Wood Shop Closing August 18 for Floor Replacement

The floor of our Wood Shop has severely deteriorated, causing tripping hazards. In order to keep our members safe, we need to replace the floor. But to do that, we have to move most of our heaviest tools out of the Wood Shop. When that happens, the Wood Shop will become unusable while we tear up and replace the floor.

Starting August 18, the entire Wood Shop will COMPLETELY shut down. It will remain closed until the Wood Shop floor is replaced. This could take up to ONE MONTH.

We apologize for any inconvenience this will cause our members. If you wish to cancel your membership or discuss other options like pausing your membership, please reach out to Jeremy our General Manager at jeremy@xerocraft.org.

We recommend members get their projects that require the Wood Shop done before the department closes on August 18.

Volunteers needed to install the floor

We're also looking for volunteers to help us get the old floor out and the new floor in. The work involves laying down 4x8ft sheets of tongue-and-groove plywood, sawing, and painting. It's pretty simple but maybe somewhat physically intensive at times. Cool drinks will be on-hand for volunteers at all times. More volunteers will get the shop reopened faster!
