Learn to make your own Fire Poi (Fire Performance Equipment)!

Here is your chance to learn how to make your very own Moonblaze Fire Poi! What are Poi? Poi originated with the Maori of New Zealand, who used the art of poi in exercise. Today, poi dancers use a huge variety of poi leashes, ranging from thin poi cords to heavy poi chains. While balls of many kinds are still in use, modern poi dancers also use a variety of fire poi, LED poi, and practice poi attachments. You may have seen them in use at Sky Bar, the All Souls Procession, or perhaps the Celtic Festival locally.

This class will teach you the materials and techniques needed to make a set of 3 inch Moonblaze Fire Poi, complete with ball chain leashes. These are a great set of poi for any spinner from beginner to professional. All materials are included in the ticket price and all tools will be provided along with expert instruction from Fire Meccas senior manufacturer, so you can leave with a set of professional quality fire poi that YOU made!

There will be no fire nor flammable chemicals used in the workshop.

While we will not offer any formal instructions on spinning your poi, we may be able to offer you a few pointers to get you started, or point you in the direction of a local troupe who may be able to teach you more.
