We are pleased to announce that Ken Tower is presenting a woodworking demonstration on how to safely and properly use a Mortise Machine. This demonstration will be held on Monday 3 November in the Xerocraft Woodworking Shop from 6pm-7pm. Ken Tower has 30 years experience teaching woodworking!
A mortise machine is used to make square or rectangular holes in wood. Most of the time it is used to make a mortise for a tenon, hence the name. Mortise and tenon joints are often used to make strong joints in furniture and jigs.
All Xerocraft Staff Members are encouraged to attend and this training is open to the public. We all need to know how to use the mortise machine safely. That way we can correct improper use by personnel not familiar with woodworking. This will avoid damage to the mortise machine and all personnel present in the wood shop.
