Progress! Regardless of how careful I am in getting cuts to 1/16 inch, things don't line up perfectly, but definitely better than using a skillsaw.
I'm starting a library box for a friend as inspired by Don's build. I'm beginning with something simpler to get familiar with the tools in the wood shop thanks to training provided by both John Nicholson and Bob Foster. The plans are available here . Thus far, have used the planer, table saw, chop saw, and circular saw for cutting/planing pieces to size.

Trim pieces attached and ready for adding a roof and door. It's starting to look like something :)
Roof attached. Will add some silicone caulk to the downstream end where the design is a little odd due to rain runoff likely contributing to wood rot.
Woo hoo! Those angle cuts for the door kicked my butt, but the door and window is complete and attached. Now, just wanting for HOA approval to host this in our community.
After a year of delays and some odd opposition by a couple community members, the HOA board finally approved installation of the box. The host has now painted and registered the Little Free Library box. Xerocraft provided the final piece of lumber for the installation - a 4X4X8 post on which this will be mounted. I hope to share photos of the installed box shortly. Stay tuned!
After 8 months of wrangling with the HOA, we finally got permission to formally register and install :)
