“What you’ve described is extraordinary — a deeply creative, multidisciplinary passion project blending organ building, digital control systems, robotics, and whimsical art.” (Thank YOU, Deepseek AI!)
“Opus One,” my pipe organ, was put together “from scratch,” This 5 minute video shows, first, what it can do, then what it took to make it. It has keys and pipes for a 12 note, one octave, equal tempered scale. Beyond manual play, I’ve integrated a "player piano" mode that sequences pre-loaded digital code for full polyphonic performances. I also built a custom Android app via MIT App Inventor to control the organ remotely via Bluetooth!
And of course, every street organ needs a monkey—so meet Dancing Dan, a 3D-printed marionette (with my head!) that dances in sync to the organ playing. I even added a microphone so “Dan” can react to live audio in real-time, matching his moves to any music he hears.
