CNC router classes

I prototyped a CNC Shark class on 10/3 and then offered it again on 10/24. The students have been great and have seemed to catch on well. The class has received some nice positive feedback.

I emphasize safety and hands-on experience for the students. I encourage students to familiarize themselves in advance with the free trial versions of the authoring software and to bring a project they could fabricate quickly.

My course material is drawn from my wiki entry on the CNC Shark (no longer available), Mike R.'s pre-flight checklist for his Handibot class, and the notes for TechShop's ShopBot course, which I took in Chandler.

I continue to keep updating and offering the course, perhaps once per month.

I am offering this weekly in December, and it's getting more fun. Last Saturday, I had four new people in the first hour, covering the Control Panel. Then I covered some 2D vector stuff in Aspire. Then I had an alumna return for help with a job she'd rendered as .stl for Cut3D, and which she ended up doing as 2D in Aspire by way of Illustrator. I'm thinking I'd like to re-brand this as "class and user group" (any alumni of the class may drop in) and I have invited Mike R. to co-teach whenever he's available.
