A lot of the time, being a Maker means seeing a gap in available products, or making something better, faster or less expensive. Our 3D Printing Shop Manager Adrian Barton did that with his PenGraver build.
Although you can buy an engraver for wood turned pens, Adrian realized he had the ability to build one. This uses a readily available laser and other parts to rotate the pen body and fire the laser via the Arduino controller unit and a CNC shield.
