- We are working on updating and upgrading the facility. Next big step will be an electrical upgrade. Also have plans to replace a cooler each year for 2 more years.
- Treasurer Report by Ben
- Total revenue for the year is up 24% year over year.
- Tool sales are up, class sales are up YoY.
- Membership revenue is also up.
- Board elections
- Election will be open via online voting to eligible members. Geoff and Ben are up for re-election and David Nordahl is running to join the Board.
- Questions from the audience:
- Are we considering raising prices for membership? Answer: Not likely in the next 12 months
- What is necessary to put on a class? Answer: Present a syllabus and price point, send to Geoff for review. Keep in mind classes should be in line with XC’s shops, ie, no gardening or baking. Classes will be approved by the shop managers.
- Do we have a marketing plan? Answer: Not really, we need a marketing person to volunteer to help with this.
- How many members do we have? Answer: the number fluctuates monthly. Currently at about 160, but will surely drop in the summer months.
- What is XC’s capacity? Answer: we don’t know but the main goal is to keep the space SAFE. We are working on some software programs to help with this.
- How can we keep Open Hacks alive? Answer: for this to happen we need more volunteers to supervise, and more volunteers to fix the equipment that gets broken due to mis-use. Almost need to have supervisors on a 1 to 1 basis to ensure safety. This is most likely not going to happen. We still have a vibrant community going at XC without Open Hack.
- Jim Glock (WAMO President and XC member) gave a short speech. He thanked XC for being a solid tenant and helping the artists next door to complete their work. Also gave a small promo pitch about the WAMO fundraiser happening next Saturday, April 26.
