This includes training to use our custom forge and anvils, and learning the basics of safety around extremely hot metal that is repeatedly hammered.
You will have the opportunity to train with some of Tucson's most well-respected blacksmiths, learning to assist them, and eventually helping to monitor students practicing on the forge during open sessions. You will assist in developing XC's fledging blacksmithing program into a mature shop, offering the Tucson community the ability to work with steel outside of structured programs. We need you to be motivated and actively engaged to promote this dying art while ensuring everyone remains safe and has fun, learning experience.
