Xerocraft Board of Directors

Monthly  Meeting

Sunday, August 17, 2025  in person at Xerocraft

Meeting called to order at 1:02pm

In attendance:  Mike Runde, Dusty Reyes, Ben Winkler, Bob Foster, David Nordahl, Don Cue

• Approve meeting minutes from July 20, 2025 Board meeting –unanimous approval 
• President’s Report by Dusty
• Nothing to report
• Treasurer Report by Ben
• Finances holding steady, up from last year
• Classes are up $3,700 year over year, membership up $21K
• XC will get about $4500 for 2026 Creative Capacity grant, this an extension from last year.
• Motion by Ben, 2nd by Don to move proceeds from interest bearing CD into general fund, then reinvest base amount in new 6 month CD at best rate. Unanimous approval, Mike to complete this through the credit union.
• Board approved shop floor replacement by email. Costs to be under $5000. David Koenig will supervise. 
• Membership Report
• Board unanimous approval to give David Koenig 1 year membership for spearheading the shop floor replacement. 
• Secretary Report by Mike
• Nothing to report.
• Operations report by Mike
• Large CNC needs new spindle motor, Jeremy ordered for under $500
• Motion and 2nd to approve rental of western South Bay shed for 2 years for expansion of Blacksmithing for no increase in rent but XC must improve the space. Unanimous approval. Work to start in Sept. Mike to get with WAMO to finalize the documents.
• Mike to talk to Byron about paying rent for KMKR studio. Possibly have classes to help pay for rent.
• Jeremy to work on getting pricing on a 20 camera package system. 
• Programming Report
• David to talk to special interest groups interested in renting XC space for meetings. Examples are miniature painting, gamers, or game developers. Need to have XC members present to supervise. Tabled until next month.
• Still would like to get more volunteers for Programming.
• We have a new craft volunteer, working on canvas work bags. 
• Public Relations Report by Dusty
• Kyle (website designer) is back in Tucson.  He would like to meet up sometime in the future.
• Dusty wants to plan a catered “Taco Night” in Oct. More info to follow.
• Fundraising Report
• Grant has been approved for 2026.
• Suggestion of new tables in the craft area. Tabled to get more info.
• New Business
• Things that are coming up on our radar that need volunteers or money:
• Fire pipe removal, south bay improvements, key fob at back door, cameras and DVR, possible storage in WAMO South Basement.
