Xerocraft Board of Directors

Monthly  Meeting

Sunday, January 18, 2026 in person at Xerocraft

Meeting called to order at 1:01pm

In attendance:  Mike Runde, Dusty Reyes, Bob Foster, Ben Winkler, David Nordahl, Don Cue

  • Approve meeting minutes from Nov 16, 2025 Board meeting
  • Motion and 2nd, Unanimous approval 
  • President’s Report by Dusty
  • Motion by Dusty, 2nd by Don to permanently ban 3 individuals from Xerocraft per our current “access and trespass” policy.  Unanimous approval.
  • Dusty is working on updating the access and trespass policy. Will have more info next month.
  • Treasurer Report by Ben
  • Classes and memberships are keeping XC running.
  • XC spent over $15K in improvements in 2025 and finances are still holding steady. Set for more improvements in 2026. 
  • New capital projects were discussed. We are budgeting for these.
  • Membership Report
  • Since finances are steady there is no plan to raise or change pricing.
  • Secretary Report by Mike
  • Nothing to report
  • Operations Report by Mike
  • Liability and D&O insurance are due. Rates are up approx 5% since last year. $1,497 for Liability, $883 for D&O. Total of $2,380.00
  • Solar Grant that WAMO applied for has been denied. Donor seems to have run out of money.
  • Mike will start working on the new roof for the South Shed bays. Board already approved this for $2000.
  • Mike has updated the info required for the Benevity website.
  • WAMO has approved spending $1000 for an architect to do a “code check” on the Steinfeld. Mike has requested that this architect do a pass through Xerocraft so that we can gather some info about basement ingress/egress access requirements.
  • Mike is working on securing a space in the south basement that XC can use as storage. It will involve volunteers to remove the wooden floor and install some gravel for the flooring.
  • Programming Report
  • We still need a volunteer coordinator.
  • Looking to get more classes set up.
  • Public Relations Report
  • Nothing to report at this time.
  • Fundraising Report by David
  • David worked on a Rio Nuevo grant for basement flooring only to find out that XC is not in the Rio Nuevo District.
  • XC is looking for grant writers.
  • Checking on EBay about beneficiary of charity auctions. More info later.
  • New Business
  • A XC member is trying to set up a “Maker’s Market” in the courtyard for March. More info to follow.
  • WAMO is trying to buy an old van/truck that it will paint and park at Steinfeld events for advertising. XC has no interest at this time.
