Xerocraft Board of Directors

Monthly  Meeting

Sunday, February 15, 2026 in person at Xerocraft

Meeting called to order at 1:01pm

In attendance:  Mike Runde, Dusty Reyes, Bob Foster, Ben Winkler, David Nordahl, Don Cue

  • Approve meeting minutes from Jan 18, 2026 Board meeting
  • Motion and 2nd, Unanimous approval 
  • President’s Report by Dusty
  • Dusty presented a Restricted Access and Trespass Policy. Motion by Dusty, 2nd by Don to approve as written. Unanimous approval. To be posted on XC website under Policy area.
  • Discussion of April Annual meeting. Set for Saturday, April 18th, 10am, then BOD meeting to follow at 12 noon. Involves election of new Board members and other items.  We will be sending out a call for candidates prior to this meeting.
  • Treasurer’s Report by Ben
  • All accounts are holding steady, numbers looking good.
  • Grant money has not come in yet.
  • Don presented a “daily number” of approx $350/day for 2025. This is what XC spent each day during 2025 and included all of the capital improvements that XC accomplished.
  • Financial plan hasn’t changed for 2026, still staying the course.  
  • Motion by Dusty, 2nd by Don for Mike to renew the expiring CD’s at the credit union at best possible rates and terms.  Unanimous approval. 
  • Membership Report
  • Membership is trending up since last year.
  • Secretary Report by MIke
  • Nothing to report
  • Operations Report by Mike
  • South Shed Bay roof install to be happening in the next 3 weeks.
  • Used cooler is ready to start install in the next 3 weeks.
  • Oliver Lathe is being fixed. Looking for donations.
  • Mike is still trying to find a contractor to install cameras.
  • Member is still trying to get a “Maker Market” off the ground. Possibly March-April, or in the fall when weather cools.
  • WAMO received a response about the solar grant. Short version: there isn’t enough money to cover the request.
  • Bob is going to work on a plan to replace machines when they are worn beyond repair. He will have shop managers put tools and equipment on a list for approval. 
  • Programming Report
  • Welding and Blacksmithing are looking strong.
  • Possibly a silvercasting class coming up. Details still being worked out.
  • Public Relations Report by Don
  • Don is working on a mailing list
  • We would like to get members to volunteer for public relations and social media. It is a time consuming job. 
  • Fundraising Report by David N
  • David has verified that we are listed on an EBay site. He is going to try a transaction to confirm.
  • Member wants to “Adopt A Street”.  There is not much benefit to XC, and increases our liability. No vote, but not likely to happen.
  • David is following up with GroundSwell. Not likely to get a grant since we don’t own the building.
