Xerocraft Board of Directors

Monthly  Meeting

Sunday, May 17, 2026 in person at Xerocraft

Meeting called to order at 1:02pm

In attendance:  Mike Runde,  Ben Winkler, David Nordahl, Don Cue, Todd Evans, Dusty absent

  • Approve previous meeting minutes
  • Motion and 2nd, unanimous approval
  • President’s Report
  • Mike is unable to make the June meeting. After discussion it was agreed to cancel the June meeting and hold our July meeting on schedule.
  • Treasurer’s Report by Ben
  • Ben is working with David for a smooth transition
  • All of the big expenses have been paid, cash flow is still good.
  • Motion by Ben, 2nd by Todd to approve up to $1000 for bathroom improvements. Work to be completed by Matt Brock. Unanimous approval. We will advise Matt to procure materials first so that work can be completed without stoppage.
  • Secretary’s Report by Mike
  • Mike is still working with WAMO to get the architect for a “code walk”.  He has been on vacation.
  • WAMO is working with COT to procure a vacant piece of land north of Steinfeld for a small parking lot. 
  • Operations Report by Mike
  • New electric strike plate for the front door has been ordered.  Due on June 5.
  • Jewelry A/C has been procured from Home Depot. Ready to hook up.
  • Welding/Blacksmithing area has been reconfigured.  We have now taken the vacant space under the south shed, approx 150 sf. 
  • XC has received a donated electric kiln. It is sitting in the blacksmith area under a tarp until we decide where it will live.
  • Camera research continues. We may start with 1 small system and then expand when we find what works. Both camera quotes were more than we wanted to spend. 
  • Fundraising Report by David
  • David working with Ben to analyze info from Stripe. We want to sort by category for classes and memberships.
  • Grant money has shown up and is still in the account.
  • Tool sales really help.
  • Public Relations
  • Not much happening. We are looking for volunteers to help with this.
  • Jeremy has a media kit for filming things. Also has an instructional video on how to make videos.
  • Check YouTube for links.
  • Programming Report
  • We still need a programming director. 
  • Tara is working with Dusty on this topic. More info next month.
  • Membership Report
  • Board has discussed the membership topic.  We have all agreed that presently it is more important to retain current members and keep them happy than to keep recruiting new members. More on this at the next meeting.

  • Oliver lathe is proceeding.
