  1. Saving power

  3. This morning, Don said swamps were all on and high blast. Mosquitoes were all over!
  4. Mosquitoes caused by swamps. We need dunks! John N will buy them. Jeremy will drop them in swamp coolers trays.
  5. Turn off PCs too?
  6. Confirm laser cutters are off
  7. Turn off fans
  8. Turn off air filter in the Wood Shop (remote control is on the bandsaw). Jeremy will put up signs.
  9. Put swamps on timers?

  10. Emptying garbage cans
  11. An overflowing trash can in the classroom was possibly caused by people in Xerocraft on Sunday night. Jeremy will check surveillance footage.

  12. Bob: Replacing the SawStop table saw?
  13. The SawStop has been malfunctioning. Every time it malfunctions, it costs us a $90 SawStop safety cartridge. We have a new high quality Jet table saw that does not have SawStop features. The Jet table saw will use a guard at all times. It has built-in kickback protection.
  14. Training would be required.
  15. We need to make sure people have a signed waiver!
  16. Danger signs would be helpful.
  17. Adrian: We could keep the SawStop but move it downstairs.
  18. John: Putting it downstairs may invite people to misuse it.
  19. Bob: We have the option of selling all three table saws to buy one new SawStop table saw.
  20. SawStop offers a false sense of security when kickback is a real danger.
  21. Wood Shop wants to move forward with replacing the SawStop and retrain staffers. Bob and Harvey will discuss it with staff.
  22. Bob: We need an intro to table saw class

  23. Harvey: update of use of the wood shop by non members and who will receive certification
  24. Harvey wasn’t present. Item tabled.

  25. Jeremy: Update on Parking Tickets, Membership Storage subcommittee
  26. Jeremy plans to reconvene the subcommittee and publish new parking permits and storage policies.

  27. Ed S: Missing motor in basement
  28. 3¾ HP motor with Ed’s name on it was in the basement. Last time Ed saw it was June 16. As of about 1:30pm on July 20, it was gone. It was on the shelf unit in the basement, 100-150lbs. It was Xerocraft property. It was 3-phase, which we could use in Xerocraft. So we were going to try and trade it.
  29. Jeremy will look into it
  30. Update: Ed found the motor! Also, we found the Jewelry dept's missing can of boron nitride aerosol!
