Katherine K: discuss the lock / locking mechanism and locking procedures for the back door
Concerns with back door. Current lock hard to turn and doesn’t catch well. The door is shakey. We should think about replacing it.
Harvey: It may have been pried open at one time.
Robbie: The door is sagging down.
Tom W will look at it.
She’s been locked out twice in the welding area! Improvements have been made but still problems. Had to go around the building at night alone.
Better communication with staffers and members to check the welding and blacksmithing area.
Add this to staffer manual, membership handbook, etc.
Robbie: LODO procedure as a short-term solution.
Katherine: A hanging notice to notify people. Harvey agrees. This is the simplest solution.
Robbie: occupied portapotty-type slide.
Don will take on letting people know.
Don will lasercut a new sign to stop back yard users from getting locked out.
Katherine: Patrick posted something to Discord.
Jeremy B: New doors and RFID system on back door in late 2023.
Lockable cabinet for Wood Shop? UA Surplus?
We’re clearing the microscopes out of the basement cage.
Robbie: Large, cheap bins with padlocks
Patrick C: Locked toolbox in welding area.
Don: If we add padlocks: let’s use combo locks over key locks. Make sure Jeremy knows the combinations!
Bob F: Wrong breakers turned off.
Saturday morning the breakers to the woodshop outlets and the classroom were turned off. Do we need to review closing procedures with Friday night users?
Someone turned off the wrong breakers again.
Jeremy will check surveillance footage.
Robbie: Add a bank of switches so people know to only flip switches.
Tom W: CNC mill class
Tom has the mill running and updated the software. He’s waiting on the board for approval of the class. He leaves in mid-May until October and he wants to pass the skills on to others first. He wants to get the class going in the next 3-4 weeks.
Alexis is working on it. She needs some details to submit a summary to the board for approval.
Don: We should fast track Tom’s class since he’s leaving soon.
Tom W: New Machine Shop Manager sought
Chuck won’t return as Summer Machien Shop Manager. Tom has some ideas. He know of an interested person. He’s working a plan to have new SMs by the time he leaves in mid-May
Jeremy B: Keep the large white cooler on sale for $20? Was it sold? Looking for fireproof plastic.
Jeremy B: CNC plasma cutter on loan coming to Xerocraft this week. 5x5ft space needed in northwest corner of the welding/blacksmithing shed by Thursday.
PC to run it is almost ready. PC needs to be password-locked.
Certification process needed!
Robbie: Get an Emergency Power Off that’s not bypassed.
Tom W: The welding area’s compressed air might be too small. Patrick says our plasma cutter works ok with it.
Patrick C: Air compressor needs new switch. Robbie can look at it.
Jeremy B: Should we accept debit and credit cards at the front desk again? Also contactless payment. For accepting payments and donations. Not everyone has cash or the PayPal or Venmo app.

Looking for feedback! We’ll announce changes first. Contact Robbie via email or Discord.
