Adrian bought a new fan motor, Jeremy installed it.
Adrian repaired the old motor, a bearing had gone out. It’s now our spare.
Adrian recommends that part of winterizing the coolers is to remove the motors and put them in dry storage.
Robbie: We might be replacing some units soon (the classroom cooler).
Jeremy: We have swamp cooler covers on the south loft. One for each cooler.
Adrian: Make sure to completely remove moisture beforehand.
Don: When should we consider winterizing?: Fall, before our first overnight freeze.
Summmer-ize in April: Oil the bearings.
Robbie: Automation of classroom swamp is going well but the process is confusing.
Jeremy will update the closing procedure
Robbie will install an automatic thermostat and a remote wired control on the first floor
Robbie will also install a “dump pump” to replace the bleed lines.
Jeremy: the bleed lines are barely working, if at all.
Adrian B: Motors to sell
Three vacuum pumps, 1.2HP, 3420RPM, 3-phase, on south loft. The inlets are about 1in dia, no good for dust collection. We don’t have a use for them. We should sell them.
Not sure if we can run them to test since they’re 3-phase.
Jeremy will reach out to David L and Connor B about them
Bob: From David L, used to check their equipment. High volume but inefficient.
The motors might be useful.
Bob has no use for them in the Wood Shop.
No objections to selling them.
Adrian will look into trying to test them.
We have a 1HP 3-phase VFD on the south loft.
John N will sell them.
Adrian B: Workbench move
Adrian and Bud reorganized the CNC dept.
We need another mobile computer station.
The “battlestation” workbench next to CNC just gets stuff piled on it. We could relocate it to the Electronics Dept.
Relocate it to south of the Electronics Dept and relocate the existing shelves there. Then make more room for the CNC Dept.
Bud is working to make the computers the same. José, our Shop Manager of Computers, can help with that.
