Minutes

  1. Nicholas W: Family memberships/class tickets so families can sign up and take classes together easily
  2. Family Plan membership option is to add only three family members. Nicholas wants to do 4 to 5.
  3. Our definition of “family” in the family plan is loose.
  4. Changes to membership requirements require Board approval.
  5. How many fobs?
  6. No fobs for kids under 18
  7. Don will contact Nicholas after the next BoD
  8. For classes, he can only purchase 2-3 tickets at a time. He’d prefer to be able to buy several tickets at once.
  9. Geoff: There’s a max purchase requirement for class tickets. It’s there to prevent abuse.
  10. Lower requirement for now (max of 4 tickets sold at a time)
  11. Geoff S: Blacksmithing classes review
  12. Ricardo taught the class. Some students reported some differences between what they were taught vs tested for. More individual focus on all tools used.
  13. John taught the S hook class. Went well and attendees enjoyed it. They want to make sure that the instructor pays attention to attendees who are progressing more slowly.
  14. There have been some concerns about the forge not getting hot enough but more testing is needed first.
  15. Steve W: Remote lighting switches
  16. Project to provide lights switches for the open north loft area and the Machine/Metal Shop.
  17. There will be a light switch at the bottom of the north loft staircase and next to the KMKR studio door. There will also be a switch next to the Machine Shop doorway
  18. Steve has accumulated all of the materials he needs.
  19. He needs to find a good time when turning off power won’t interfere with anyone.
  20. Steve will also add a single outlet in the corner of the Machine Shop above the panel box for the future installation of a surveillance camera.
  21. Steve could use some volunteers to help install everything.
  22. Jeremy B: Swamp coolers update
  23. The Machine swamp cooler will be down until tomorrow morning while the pulley and belt are replaced.
  24. The Machine Shop and Main Room swamp coolers are leaking slightly to the floor below. The leaks will be sealed soon before the next rain.
