Jeremy B: New parking tickets: Out of Order, Tool Problem, Up For Grabs
New tickets for tagging equipment as out of order or possibly suffering from a problem, as well as up for grabs tags for unwanted items, have been made and will be distributed around the space.
Adrian B: Cabinets
From Desert Woodcrafters: Jim P is a member. He’s offering us lockable laptop storage and charging cabinets, 26 offered to Adrian. 27x27x42in tall. One is now in 3D Printing Dept. Add mass, reduce vibration. From a Sunnyside School District auction.
Geoff S: Mill status
The mill is functional but the head overheats very quickly. Likely a bad bearing. Tom W is coming back next week and they’ll discuss more permanent repair. A new-to-us mill is likely the best option. The current mill is not in great shape. Professional repair will cost at least $2500. Downsides to a rebuild an old head with unpopular shape and very worn ways. New ways is $10,000. New-to-us mill for $4000. Limit use to one hour or less, then 30 minutes rest.
Lisa G: Alert members and staffers about tool issue via email.
Lisa G: Pima College auctions might be an option.
Geoff has reached out to several former PCC employees.
Patrick C: Update on the new Longmuir Systems Crossfire Pro CNC plasma cutter
Jeremy: It's running! More info soon.
