Harvey B: Tool updates: Router is down, Planer is working
Steve W new light switch coming (breakers 2 and 4)
Jeremy B: Update on large vacuum former
Rain expected Thursday. Adrian can cover them Wednesday.
No opinions on what to do with them. Sell them?
Jeremy would love to have a working one.
Adrian B recommends MatterHackers
Don: But who’s responsible for it?
Jeremy will talk to John N about selling them
Jeremy B: Update on Bit Buckets space use
They’re out of the height of build season.
Adrian B: Pen plotter
There’s a pen plotter that came with the Jewelry Dept donations from Terry and Pat G. It’s kind of old, no longer sold. Hardware and software works. You can also add a laser module it to do light engraving. LightBurn and GRBL (e.g. Inkscape) compatible. Possibly for greeting cards. Originally sold for $400. Not worth much now. Expandable.
Let’s keep it.
Adrian B: 4x4 CNC update
Working better with recent upgrades. You get certified on one machine, you’re ready for three: FrankenBot, 6090 and 4x4.
End stock installed and working. Limit switch brackets working so far. Not all installed yet. After that, install E-stop. We already have the hardware.
A member was using it, accidently hit the spacebar, and started the process unexpectedly. They thought it was an error but that’s a keyboard shortcut. We may remove them to avoid confusion.
Don C: Home command error?
Adrian’s not aware but they tested it working.
Reach out to Bryant F. Adrian will talk to Bud and attempt to repeat the error.
Jeremy B: Pets on leashes during Open Hacks? [7:26p]
Geoff S: Anyone can be asked to put their animal on a leash when asked.
Harvey B: Good policy. Required of all animal owners who enter the premises. Animals could bump into people and cause harm.
Katherine K: Any staffer should be able to eject an animal if they’re in an unsafe area. Shop Managers can handle it.
Don will write a proposal to the board.
Jeremy B: New camera location
In the Machine Shop. Steve installed the outlet.
Jeremy B: Hazmat chemical disposal
Steve W: Near the Electronics Dept (beside the center walkway), there’s a wire shelf. On the bottom shelf there’s hazardous chemicals that need to be disposed of. Steve W said he can take them.
Steve will take it this Saturday. If there’s anything else you want to add to the pile, you have until Friday. Or let Steve W know.
You can also take what you want.
Get rid of silver solder flux
Bob D recommends every Shop Manager and staffer check their depts and if they find anything, tag it and get it to Steve.
Harvey B: Metal shear moved to basement
The sheet metal shear has been moved downstairs next to the CNC Dept.
Harvey: Why was it moved?
Geoff wants it cleared out for future expansion in the Machine Shop. We’re hoping we’re going to get a good deal on a metal lathe soon. In preparation for that, we moved the shear. We spoke to several users first, but not all of them.
Harvey: Perhaps a small metalworking area in the basement?
