Minutes

  1. Don C: laser shop update
  2. Donated Laguna laser cutter has been repaired. It uses LightBurn. But it’s different and requires some training. Air assist is figured out. Slightly smaller bed than blue laser cutter. Use autofocus. Don wants to train staffers to show members how to use it.
  3. The Laguna (along with the other laser cutter) is up for sale. But it can be used until then. Profits will go toward purchase of a new laser cutter (hopefully larger than blue).
  4. The red and white laser cutter is almost fully operational. It will also be sold for the purchase of a new machine.
  5. Laguna and blue have new laser tubes.
  6. Adrian B: 3D printer update
  7. One machine was down. The ribbon cable overheated. It’s running again.
  8. Bob F: Locked cabinet?
  9. Bob needs a storage space for some tools that require training to use. It must be lockable.
  10. Eventually, Harvey wants to replace the tool chests of drawers on the east wall.
  11. The black cabinet in the corner of the east wall could go and be replaced by a new cabinet.
  12. There’s another cabinet between the planer and the bandsaw. It could be removed to make more room in the shop.
  13. Jeremy will talk to Bob about it.
  14. Bob would like something like the cabinets used in the 3D Printing Dept.
  15. We’re on the lookout!
  16. Geoff S: Lathe pulley repair
  17. Geoff is working on repairing the lathe for sale. They had limited success repairing the pulley.
  18. Geoff is going to check to see if a replacement pulley can be found.
  19. Bob F: It may have value as parts sold separately.
  20. Geoff S: Microscope
  21. Geoff worked on the microscope for two weeks. The objective turret doesn’t work. The problem is too difficult to identify. Geoff recommends we sell the chassis as not fully functional and sell the parts or sell the whole thing as-is.
  22. Geoff will post the parts on a microscope parts website.
  23. Steve W is willing to take a look at it.
