Minutes

  • Steve W: New lathe is working well on 3-phase power. It was making a small mechanical noise today but they believe Tom got it fixed.
  • John N’s friend John will take any scrap
  • Adrian and Bud are improving the CNC dust collection. They’re currently working on dust collection for three additional machines.
  • We should advertise that we have five working CNC machines.
  1. Adrian B: the time a donated item should be kept before it is moved out of the facility to another organization
  2. Stick welder has been sitting there for a few weeks, unsold. Welding Dept doesn’t want it.
  3. HabiStore might want it. John will put it up for sale. Then Jeremy will take to HabiStore.
  4. Adrian B: ShopSmith update
  5. Mark 5 ShopSmith (1985) 5-in-1 tool: drill press, lathe, more.
  6. It's missing some accessories that come with newer models.
  7. It’s up for sale soon. It was donated to us.
  8. Don C: First: Does Xerocraft want it?
  9. Then, if not: Adrian thinks we should keep it for 1 month, while we attempt to sell it. Then get rid of it.
  10. Jeremy will take another look at the parking tickets and update them as necessary.
  11. Jeremy can take unwanted donations to HabiStore, Good Will.
  12. Don C: MonPort laser cutter update
  13. The head crashed on Saturday. The head and E-stop switch were repaired. It’s up and running again. However, autofocus is disabled and locked-out. Pressing it does nothing. Don also removed the auto-focus option from the profiles.
  14. We may need to educate some members on how to use manual focus.
  15. Everyone should be shown how to use the E-stop
  16. WHEN IT DOUBT: PUSH THE E-STOP! Don’t turn it! And leave the machine off!
  17. If it crashes and the head is buried in the honeycomb, turning it off and on will cause the head to drag across the honeycomb and cause massive damage!
